    Description

    The mother tree was discovered near Sacramento in Summer 2017. The tree grows in the wild in an isolated area with no other fig trees nearby. The figs from the tree are of superior quality that tastes like sweet intense berry jam. It also stores well in the refrigerator (more than 10 days). Furthermore, the figs ripen on the counter if they are picked before ideal ripeness. I did not notice any breba on the tree and the main crop is produced in August and September. I have tasted more than 300 varieties so far and this Yolo-Bypass fig is in the top 5 for me.
    As announced by ourfig.com members, Yolo Bypass is confirmed as a common variety. So, the wasps are not needed to produce fruit but the quality and size of the figs will be better if wasps are active in your area.
