Beautiful Collectible Vintage Mid-Century SALEM CHINA COMPANY Godey Victorian Print Plate! Cream color with 23 K gold scrolls on rim. Made in U.S.A. c. 1952 (see backstamp in third photo).Beautiful on a wall or plate stand! It is 7 1/8 inches in diameter.

Godey's Magazine and Lady's Book
, was published by Louis Godey in Philadelphia from 1830 to 1898. It was expensive and the most widely circulated magazine in the period before the Civil War.
The magazine is best known for the hand-tinted fashion plate that appeared in each issue providing a record of the progression of women's styles in dress. Almost every issue also included an illustration and ladies' garment pattern for home sewing. The latest piano sheet music was also included.
Salem China Company was an early 20th century maker of china in Salem, Ohio. It's not made today, but its styles have timeless appeal. Whether you like traditional china, classic, country or mid-century modern, Salem China has a variety of styles that have survived for over a century

The Salem China Company of Salem, Ohio, was founded in 1898 to manufacture hotel dishes, but it quickly shifted to more creative styles of dinnerware, novelty items and souvenir dishes. Ownership changed in 1918, and manufacturing continued until 1967.
Excellent condition - no chips or cracks. Shiny & undamaged. Looks like it was stored and never used all these years. Great for the Victorian, Godey Print and Vintage American Plate Collector!
