    Hello,
    This pot was made by Imaoka Machinao. He was a very famous potter from outside of Tokyo in the Yokohama prefecture. He made just small size pots. Always handmade.
    This is a very rare piece by him. You can see the raised dancing frog motif and some excellent patina. The pot also has excellent crazing (small cracks in the glaze when being fired in high heat) around the pot. I’ve only seen this style by him in a reddish glaze and the numbers produced were very low. This is a good one.
