PHILODENDRON LYNNHANNONIAE, RARE Species, CORRUGATED Leaf, Beautiful Aroid Plant

My collection includes a few rarities, and this beauty is one of my favorites.
Philodendron lynnhannoniae
has rough-textured leaves that are very unusual for this genus and truly gorgeous to behold. To me, what makes this species especially attractive are the cataphylls, which are lacy and almost as beautiful as the leaves themselves! Add to that the white scales on the petiole, and you have a winning combination! As the corrugated leaves suggest,
P. lynnhannoniae
needs high humidity in order to thrive, and I've grown them successfully in a terrarium and in a greenhouse. This species was described very recently (2016) and is still very rare in cultivation. A well-grown plant is absolutely spectacular and will stand out in any collection.

Philodendron lynnhannoniae
is known from northwestern Ecuador and western Colombia at elevations of 2000-4000 feet. It prefers intermediate temperatures and humid conditions, although it can tolerate temperatures into the 50s at night during the winter. For me, this species grows well in a potting mix that holds moisture but also provides good drainage. I use loosely-packed sphagnum moss with very good results.
