    Original Astor Pictures Half Sheet Poster (22x28) for the musical comedy, EBONY PARADE (1947). Mantan Moreland hosts a series of ÒsoundiesÓ by various African-American artists of the time, including Count Basie, Cab Calloway, and Dorothy Dandridge. Soundies were three-minute musical films produced between 1940 and 1946, often including short dance sequences, similar to our later Òmusic videosÓ of the MTV era. These short films are best know for preserving rare performances of African-American artists who had fewer opportunities to perform in films. This rare half sheet poster with an all black cast is in good condition, with tears and distresses in all the border areas.
