Antique All bisque indian Hertwig german doll 4 inches molded clothing

This 4 inch tall indian doll was attached to the pictured card but I removed her to take a photo of the back. There are no marks on her.  Her hair was originally braided but is not now.   Very nicely painted facial features. .
Made by the Hertwig factory in Germany about 100 years ago, the little girl represents an idealized version of an American Indian child, whose ethnicity held great fascination for the masses as world travel became more available. Standing just 4” tall, this miniature doll is wire jointed at the shoulders only. She is painted with a darker skin tone, and wears a tiny wig of mohair.  Her little molded dress is painted to resemble bead trimmed suede, quite successfully, I might add, with fringes at the hemline. I especially love the molded moccasins on her feet. She is in very good condition with a little dirt from being handled but no chips or breaks.
