General description:
Native range: East of the Rocky Mountains in the United States.
Mature Height: 5 to 12 feet
Mature Width: 5 to 12 feet
Sun Preference: Full sun to part shade.
Leaf structure: Pinnate. Opposite pairs with 5 to 9 leaflets. Compound leaves.
Stem Structure: Large internodal growth.
Bark Structure: Light brown in color and smooth.
Bloom Timing: June - July white flowers.
Growth Habit: Sprawling, sucker growth that forms colonies of growth.
Soil Preference: sand, clay, loam and silt.
Water Preference: Medium
Maintenance:  High
Main use of tree: Edible fruit and flowers. The berries are
generally
used for jellies and wine. Wild life favorite. Berries are high in Vitamin C.
General Notes: Attracts pollinators. The leaves and inner bark can be used as an
insecticide

The berries are used to make
Sambucus, which is a wonderful immune supporting supplement.
This grows in a branching/rhizome form. In a couple years you will have a cluster of these growing beside
themselves
because of the rhizome growth that spreads a couple feet a year.
The seeds are quite fertile and are enjoyed by birds. You may find a couple volunteer plants growing a ways away due to wildlife consumption.
This a wonderful plant to grow and is very user friendly.
Soil pH level guide: Acid to Neutral to Alkaline.  Acidic soil has a pH of 1 to 6.5. Neutral soil has a pH of 6.6 to 7.3. Alkaline soil has a pH of 7.4 to 14. If you do not know your garden's pH level please go out an buy a cheap soil pH testing kit which can be found in any hardware store, typically under .00.

Shipping

WE ship on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is for the safety of the plants. Typically they will be received by the end of the week if shipped at the beginning.
We may delay shipments due to weather, mainly temperatures during the winter and summer months. We want you to receive the nicest plant we can offer. Heat can dry out the best of packages.
Please take note that we have no control over our packages once they are in the hands of USPS. Any questions should be directed to USPS with your valid tracking information once tracking information has been updated. If you can not find your tracking number contact us and we will verify your order's tracking number.
You will receive tracking information (via eBay/PayPal) when the shipping label is created and when our USPS agent has scanned in the package. Tracking information can take 24 hours to be updated. Please refer to USPS website once the label has been created.

We warrantee and represent that the Plants are as described in the above listing. Every plant is different. There will be variations in size but always within the parameters that are established in the body of the listing. The quality will always be represented to the fullest.
Plants are alive and can be affected in all sorts of ways during shipping. The shipping process will undoubtedly be the most stressful situation that the plant will go through. We do everything possible to make sure the quality of the plants do not suffer during a stressful shipment. Once they are received they need immediate care. Their roots need air, and their soil watered. Do not subject the plant to direct light, allow a 12 to 24 hours adjustment period. Transplant shock is a real thing. Be aware of it and take steps to alleviate it.
Returns
Returns
WE typically do not accept returns as the plants don't usually make the journey back. If there is any issue with your order please contact us and we will make sure the situation is resolved. We want you to be satisfied with the quality of plant you receive.
We have a 2 day contact period from the time you receive your plant to the time you contact us. Pictures of the plant/s and shipping materials are needed for verification. After that time period we have no control over the viability of care that is being given to the plant. We guarantee against any defects or shipping errors that may occur during the shipping process.
